Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are used to remember your preferences and improve your browsing experience.
2. Cookies we use
On the Quotae website (quotae.app), Quotae uses essential cookies/local storage necessary for the site to function, plus — only after you accept cookies — an advertising attribution cookie used to measure paid-subscription conversions back to the originating ad click:
- cookie-consent: Remembers your cookie choice (localStorage).
- theme: Saves your light/dark theme preference (localStorage).
- _quotae_consent: Records your cookie decision (accepted / declined) so our servers can apply your preference across subdomains. Lifetime: 90 days.
- _quotae_gclid: Advertising attribution cookie that stores ad click identifiers (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, fbclid) for up to 90 days so we can measure when a Google or Meta ad led to a subscription. Set only after you accept cookies, and cleared when you decline or after 90 days.
The advertising attribution cookie is set only when you accept cookies. If you decline (or never engage with the banner), no advertising cookie is stored.
3. Analytics
We use Umami as our web analytics tool on the Quotae website. Umami is a privacy-respecting solution: it does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and is GDPR compliant without requiring consent.
In the mobile app, Quotae uses Meta and Firebase mobile SDKs only for signup and trial-start conversion measurement. On iOS, this is gated by Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. On Android, the SDKs may use the Google Play services Advertising ID when available.
4. Third-party cookies and server-side ad attribution
The Quotae website does not include third-party cookies for advertising or tracking purposes. The only external website services we use (web fonts, hosting) do not set tracking cookies on your device.
When you accept cookies and later complete a paid subscription, we share the conversion event server-to-server with Google Ads and Meta via a relay service (Zernio). The data shared is limited to: your hashed email, the captured ad click identifiers (gclid / gbraid / wbraid / fbclid) when present, the subscription amount, and an event ID. This sharing happens only for users who accepted cookies. If you declined or never engaged with the cookie banner, no server-side conversion data is shared with Google or Meta on your behalf.
The Quotae mobile app does not use HTTP cookies, but native Meta/Firebase SDKs may use mobile advertising identifiers for paid-campaign conversion measurement. On iOS this uses Apple's ATT control; on Android you can reset or delete the Advertising ID, or disable ad personalization, in Android Settings. See our Privacy Policy for the full data-sharing details.
5. Managing cookies
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may affect how the site functions.
Major browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
